Conservative Spokesman for Barrow & Furness, Simon Fell, has welcomed the over £12million in funding to improve the condition of roads across Cumbria.

 

The Chancellor, Philip Hammond, announced at the Budget that a £420 million fund will be created to tackle potholes and other roadworks. Barrow Borough Council, South Lakes District Council and Cumbria Council will all benefit from receiving £12,004,000 to repair potholes, keep local bridges and structures open and safe, and help with other highways works that may be needed.
