An invite to number 10 this came totally out of the blue I received this about 10 days ago, I was allowed to bring a guest with me apart from that there was no other information.
David Hollis and myself left Oxenholme station at 7:20 after driving through torrential rain along the A590, the train ran late due to flooding on the lines and trespassing? it was blatantly obvious that we had a lot of rain and passing Preston you could see the effects of the heavy rain, the rivers were on maximum.
On arriving in London one thing I did notice after 30 years absence from the capital was the cleanliness of the subways, on our short sightseeing session.
The reception at number 10 was excellent we were superbly looked after and met colleagues from the North West, together with MPs and fellow Chairman alike.
Theresa gave us a short presentation within that presentation our Association and Westmoreland’s was mention amongst others, on leaving Teresa shook my hand this is the second time now, I'm seriously hoping for the third time when we have an MP for Barrow-in-Furness by my side.
It was a long journey home with a 50-minute delay, we were privileged to have been guests at Number 10.
More photos to follow from inside Number 10 when released
